Paper Heart.

After watching the quirky "mockumentary" Paper Heart starring Charlyne Yi(Knocked Up) and Michael Cera (Juno, Superbad) I was touched, to say the least. The honesty of the main characters draws you in, while the whimsical cardboard cut-out scenes give you the giggles.

This film takes you on a stroll through interviews of people in love as Charlyne tries to understand what love is. She talks to all kinds from all walks of life: Friends and strangers, bikers, novelists, and children. Each person interviewed gives an interesting view on romance and the question: Does true love really exist?

After filming begins, Charlyne meets Michael, and along with questioning people on the specifics of love, she starts to question herself. Writing her music skills into the movie, Charlyne plays a song written for Michael, entitled "Magic Perfume" that will have you smiling and singing the eccentric words for days to come. The director of the film turns the focus of the film to Charlyne and Michael's relationship, and Charlyne's eagerness for the film makes her risk losing the person closest to her. In a story both critical and cutesy, Cera and Yi will have the audience thinking about their perceptions of modern love.

Paper heart is unlike any other movie, the endearing moments aren't forced or overly rehearsed. The film is an honest, however naive, experience that most will enjoy. What is love? Is it simply a biological reaction to a psychological circumstance? Or is there something more to it?
